Feedback from LFC

Spirit of Shankly have been in discussion with Liverpool FC, following members and supporters’ feedback after the Burnley game last Saturday, 21 August.

Issues raised included NFC difficulties accessing Anfield, queues to get in to make it in time for kick-off, overcrowding on the concourses once inside and lack of staff and refreshments.

Responses from the club are as following:

They are continuing to develop, look at, the technology problems but they will not be returning to the old system of fan cards.

They accept that the stewarding needs improvement, with better engagement for those fans having problems.

They acknowledge that hospitality, running out of food and drinks inside the ground was poor, but put this down to supply and staffing issues.

The club also said that they expect it could take more games to iron out all of the issues, but their aim is for all supporters to return to their regular matchday routines as soon as possible. They added that they are trying to learn lessons from what has happened.

We did not get a satisfactory answer to any of our questions and are dissatisfied that measures have not been put in place to resolve supporters’ issues. For the game against Chelsea on Saturday, 28 August, the club are again asking and ‘organising’ staggered entrance to the ground. Fans can therefore expect further disruption.

We will continue dialogue and update members as and when we know further.
