Information for supporters – Manchester United away
Spirit Of Shankly has recently contacted LFC to discuss with them the treatment of supporters at Old Trafford, in particular being denied access to toilets. There have in recent seasons, been a number of problems caused by this refusal to allow supporters their basic rights to access the toilet and other facilities, often for over one hour.
Whilst we understand Greater Manchester Police (GMP) wish to impose a number of measure to address safety concerns, this should not come to the detriment of supporters basic human rights.
LFC have assured us that they have contacted both Manchester United and GMP to raise these issues, and they have been told that again, supporters will not be allowed to use the toilets or other facilities after the final whistle unless under exceptional circumstances. However, no explanation of exceptional circumstances has been provided. They have informed us that supporters will instead be allowed toilet access up until five minutes before full time, and that there will be tannoy announcements giving supporters this information.
We find this situation unacceptable but hope that it is an improvement on how we have been treated in recent seasons. We felt it necessary to inform supporters of the plans for Sunday so they are fully aware of what conditions to expect.
If any supporters do encounter problems on Sunday, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us at [email protected].
