Free Advice Sessions to Start
Spirit of Shankly are proud to announce the launch of our latest community-led initiative in Anfield. In conjunction with Vauxhall Law Centre and Homebaked Bakery an independent advice service, with a focus on welfare benefits and debt, will be available for local residents.
“This will be a vital service for people living in the area,” SOS Chair Joe Blott says. “Anfield is home to our team but we are all too aware how much investment, local and national, the area needs. We are delighted that with this partnership we can help alleviate some of the real problems residents face on a daily basis.”
Solicitors from VLC will be on hand to help those seeking guidance on benefits available to them and problems they may have with accruing debt. Sessions will take place at Homebaked.
“Vauxhall Law Centre is delighted to be working with Spirit of Shankly to deliver a much-needed advice service,” Alan Kelly, the centre’s development officer, says. “This partnership of three community groups is aiming to provide support for those in the area struggling to make ends meet.”
Angela McKay, operations manager at Homebaked, agrees. “It’s such a brilliant idea and we have a lovely, private room set aside. I want people to know that when they come they will get a warm welcome that will help them realise, whatever their issues, they can get help here and sort them out.”
The free-of-charge service will run on a drop-in basis, starting on 1 November 2021 from 10am – 12pm and every following Monday.
