Thanks for your support
Following Saturday’s protests and the start of action to urge the club to reconsider its plans for a three-year price increase, we would like to thank all supporters who took part and have shown their support.
All those who handed out leaflets, spoke to other supporters, didn’t spend inside the ground or bring the usual flags and banners, you have helped kick start the campaign. The support echoed inside the ground for the protest sent a loud message to LFC’s decision makers that they have made a mistake.
The visual difference of the Kop is a worrying glimpse into the future and one all fans – and owners of Liverpool – should be worried about.
The same thanks goes to those supporters across the country and beyond, and in particular many OLSC’s around the world, who while not at Anfield on the day, sent messages of solidarity.
The coverage of our campaign has been widespread, and we know it will have been seen and heard by the senior executives and owners of the club. We hope this, and the words of our captain that “Our supporters are the club – its heart and soul” will have given them cause to reflect and rethink.
Our match against PSG is the closest to 15 April and one where we will mark the 37th anniversary of Hillsborough. As every year, pertinent flags and banners will be flown on the Kop. Remembering Hillsborough takes precedence over any other visual protest.
We will again be speaking with supporter groups in the coming days and will post an update, with plans, for an escalation of action in the coming weeks should the club not heed the captain’s suggestion and work with us to find a solution.
