Message sent loud and clear
We would like to thank everyone who made Saturday’s protest at Anfield such a huge success.
To have 80%, if not more, of those in the ground come together to make a statement is something rarely seen in football anywhere in the world. It was a message sent loud and clear from Anfield to Boston and beyond.
From the foodbank volunteers to those who gave out cards on the day, to every single supporter who raised one on the 13th minute, we say: thank you.
No supporter wants to be doing this on a matchday. Going to the game is a time we look forward to and cherish: seeing family and mates, coming together as one to cheer on the team.
For so many to show solidarity underlines how passionate we feel about football’s direction of travel, and why it is time to change it.
We have just four games left to play, with only two of them at Anfield.
Every Liverpool fan wants us to beat Manchester United, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Brentford. Every Liverpool fan wants the team to finish as high as possible in the Premier League. Every matchgoer wants to put all their efforts into making Anfield the very best it can be. And no Liverpool fan wants to feel like they are at war with their own club.
There is value in feeling valued. Goodwill and positivity can energise Anfield for those final games. We ask LFC not to kill the heartbeat of the club.
We also want to show our appreciation for the outstanding service Mo Salah and Andy Robertson have given. Their names should be sung loud and long. They should see The Kop at its best.
We have been back in discussions with the club with further talks expected in the coming days. No agreement has yet been reached, and we will continue to protest, but also work to try to find a solution, so that we can get back to being what we all want LFC to be: the best football club in the world.
