Football is, at its core and in the mind of supporters, a sport. The clubs that we support, whilst we understand they operate like a business, are sporting institutions representative of their locality.

The question of how much this holds true has reared its head once again, with the latest revelations from Football Leaks and subsequent media reports. Whilst supporters want to protect the integrity of their sport and their respective leagues and clubs, this is further evidence that for some owners the pursuit of every pound, euro or dollar matters most.

The suggestion of a new European Super League concerns us greatly. These are concerns that transcend club and national loyalties. Today, we have asked LFC if they have been involved in any discussions on a European Super League and what their position is on such a proposal.
