Latest Development

The latest news regarding the expansion of the Anfield Road stand is that it will not be completed until the start of 2024 at the earliest.

This is obviously hugely disappointing for everyone connected to Liverpool FC, especially supporters.

This delay has had an impact on thousands of match-going fans who bought a ticket for the upper tier for 2023 fixtures in good faith.

We have heard from season-ticket holders, members with previous seasons’ credits, those who paid for hospitality and official supporters clubs members who now face missing out on matches, starting with Everton on Saturday.

Spirit of Shankly have been in constant dialogue with the club regarding the construction delays, pushing the fans’ perspective and experiences on this issue and encouraging communication with supporters at the earliest opportunities.

We share the frustration of all those affected but also recognise in this specific instance – where the stand has not been completed on time due to unforeseen circumstances – that there are not enough tickets and there is no option that satisfies all who are affected.

We will continue to relay supporter experiences to the club and communicate issues at what is a frustrating time for so many. We will also continue to explore all options with the club that may free up tickets for affected fans.
