Big Red Talk 2

Spirit of Shankly are pleased to announce Big Red Talk 2, in conjunction with LFC Foundation, LDSA and Spion Kop 1906. The free event will take place on Wednesday 21 April 2021.

This follows the success of the first Big Red Talk last December. Back then we reported how fan groups around the country had begun discussing mental-health issues and raising awareness of the services and support available.

The aim of the event is to encourage open and honest conversations about mental health and to encourage supporters to seek out support should they need it. A central theme is recognising the value that social aspects of the matchday routine provide to fans around the country, something which has been disrupted this past year.

We know the pandemic and lack of actively going to watch football, has had a serious impact on our collective mental health. Consequently, it feels there is no better time to enhance and develop supporter-led work around the issues.

We encourage fans to watch out for each other and to check in on a friend or fellow supporter we’d normally see at the match.

If you would like to join in the Big Red Talk, full details of this free virtual event can be found here.
