Open dialogue
SOS MC member George Bevan recently joined fan reps from Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, and the Football Supporters’ Association for an informal meeting with the Premier League to talk ticketing.
It followed previous structured dialogue with the PL and covered the current rules and guidance on ticketing in the PL Handbook, and Supporters Board / Fan Advisory Board engagement.
George gave a general overview of the SOS motion, proposed at the last FSA general meeting, regarding ticket prices and answered questions.
It was agreed ongoing discussions between supporter reps and the PL are to continue, including specific meetings around ticketing and prices.
The PL and FSA released the following joint statement:
“The Football Supporters’ Association along with supporter representatives from Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United met with the Premier League this week to discuss ticketing.
The meeting was arranged following the last structured dialogue meeting with the Premier League, where both supporter representatives and the Premier League discussed the current rules and guidance on ticketing rules in Premier League Handbook, following supporter concerns about price increases and changes to or the reduction of concessionary prices at some clubs. The Premier League also explained the timeline and rules relating to the implementation of digital ticketing.
There will be an ongoing dialogue between supporter representatives and the Premier League on this topic, both through the structured dialogue format and specific ticketing meetings.”
