We will host a final public meeting ahead of a vote to decide our position on rail seating, taking place on Saturday 22nd July in The Liner Hotel, Lord Nelson Street, Liverpool, L3 5QB. 

The meeting will start at 12noon and whilst we anticipate it will last approximately 2 hours, it may well run longer to allow all to have their say.

It is open to all to attend. 

This meeting is not to decide if we should introduce rail seating at Anfield. It is to establish our view on whether we are in favour or against rail seating being introduced and our view on its use.

We will ensure we have an open, honest and respectful discussion about this, allowing all to share their views, ask questions and listen to what people have to say. To assist with this, we will have a panel of speakers to make opening contributions and answer questions. We are pleased that the following have made time to contribute to this debate:

• Rick Riding, Inspector with the Sports Ground Safety Authority 

• Amanda Jacks, Football Supporters Federation

• John-Paul Taylor, Celtic FC Supporter Liaison Officer

Other speakers may be added in due course.

We would encourage anyone who wants to contribute or who has yet to make up their mind to attend if they can. For those who cannot, there are some options below for you to contribute:

1. Submit a question or comment

If you cannot make the meeting, you can still submit a question or comment. These will be read out and put to the panel or contribute to the discussion. Depending on the number received and possible duplicates, it may not be possible to read them all. We will though ensure that any put forward are a balance of those received. To submit a comment or question, please email chair@spiritofshankly with Rail Seating Question/Comment as the subject. The deadline for these is 3pm, Friday 21st July.

2. Watch online 

The meeting will be live streamed and available to watch via our Facebook page – Link. This will be available for viewing afterwards. If time permits, we may be able to take questions via this but there is no guarantee. The best method is to submit questions and comment as explained above. Details of how to watch will be shared closer to the meeting

3. Read, Watch and Listen

We will be sharing articles, videos and podcasts in the coming days and months and will collate them in a news story on our site for people to us to inform them.

4. Vote

After the meeting concludes, we will open up an online vote for people to make their choices. Details of this will be sent out closer to the time and will be shared on social media and on our website.
