Stop Exploiting Loyalty: Support the campaign for fairer prices in football
Are you worried about the price of football?
Are you concerned about the direction of travel over ticket prices and the attack on concessions by some Premier League clubs?
Do you worry that you, or your children, could be priced out of supporting your football club?
And do you want to do something about it?
This season 19 of the 20 Premier League clubs increased their ticket prices – tickets that have already rocketed in price way beyond inflation since the Premier League began.
This Saturday (November 2) Spirit of Shankly are teaming up with Brighton fans to hold up the Stop Exploiting Loyalty banner that has been seen at grounds around the country over the last few weeks.
We have already joined forces with West Ham fans at Anfield, Everton supporters at Goodison Park and Arsenal fans at The Emirates to emphasise that this is an issue that goes beyond tribalism and affects all football supporters.
We want to send a clear message to all Premier League clubs and the administrators of the league itself that enough is enough and routine price rises need to stop.
Our game is already far more expensive than it once was and preying on the loyalty of dedicated supporters needs to stop.
It should not be a race to the richest in terms of who fills our stadiums
Come and join us on Saturday, 1.30pm, by the Foodbank on Walton Breck Road near to the corner of The Kop and Kenny Dalglish stands.
Apathy is the friend of the capitalist who wants to keep milking us. Solidarity can make a difference and we have proved this before.
See you there.
