Tonight’s protest against ticket prices has been a massive success. Initial estimates from sources and from pictures are that over half of all tickets for the away end have gone ‘unused’.
Hull – The choice for supporters
In just under twenty four hours’ time, Liverpool FC will take to the pitch at the KC Stadium. It’s a regular run-of-the mill Premier League match. Off the pitch, and in the stands, it is anything but regular. Instead of the usual packed and boisterous away end, full of the club’s loyal supporters, there will be empty seats. The usual defiant stand taken by supporters will be just a stand, bare and quieter than usual.

For two years Spirit of Shankly has been at the forefront of a national campaign to get a fair deal on ticket prices for all football supporters.

The Liverpool Supporters' Union was contacted yesterday by the Chair of the Liverpool Football Club Supporters' Committee to advise us of a meeting that is being held at the Club this Friday, 27th September, to discuss the ongoing issues arising from Club actions at recent away games.
Hillsborough Witness Appeal
The Liverpool Supporters’ Union was recently contacted by a number of supporters concerned about the clubs plans for away supporters which was to involve away ticket checks and threatened subsequent banning orders.

Amid the frenetic atmosphere of the Liverpool - Manchester United game last weekend, supporters of both clubs were able to put their fierce rivalry to one side to display solidarity on an issue that affects all supporters, regardless of team colours. That issue is the price of match tickets and the message is simple - £nough is £nough.
Turnstile access update
The Liverpool Supporters' Union were pleased to see that the significant problems experienced at the turnstiles at the Stoke and Notts County games were reduced at the Manchester United game following the Union's contact with the Club to raise the issue and our subsequent release on the problems that are occurring.

Following the problems experienced by supporters at the turnstiles at the home games against Stoke City and Notts County, Spirit of Shankly is concerned that a number of important issues remain unresolved.
Anfield – An Asset of Community Value
Anfield, as a stadium and what it represents, is incredibly important to both Liverpool supporters and the local community. It matters to so many people - be it those who attend football matches, those who work there or those who live within close proximity. This week, the Liverpool Supporters’ Union have submitted an application to Liverpool City Council to have Anfield, and the immediate area surrounding the football stadium, designated as an asset of community value.
Premier League Money for Away Fan Initiatives
The Liverpool Supporters' Union has been advised that a pot of money, around £4 million, sourced from PL revenues has been made available to split between all Premier League Clubs. This means that each Club has received around £200,000 with the proviso that this money is spent on initiatives to improve the experience for away fans.
