Anti-discrimination
The union stands against all types of discrimination in football and in society.
We stand against anyone that wishes to divide fans on race, religion, gender, sexuality or any other reason.
We acknowledge the great work done by organisations in and out of football such as Kick it Out, Show Racism the Red Card, Merseyside Together and Stand up to Racism who educate and organise in opposing racism and fascism.
In recent years, we have seen groups, old and new, seek to try and divide us under the guise of names like the FLA, or those who have sought to march in our city. We will stand against racism and fascism at all times, in football and outside of football. As Liverpool fans, but more importantly citizens, we are very proud of the response from the people of Liverpool – to be open and welcoming, not ignorant and insular.
We have seen the positive work done with all in our community. Our Foodbank initiative, Fans Supporting Foodbanks, works closely with the Muslim community across the city. We our proud to work with Kop Outs a Liverpool LGBT+ fan group. This should be the message from football – bringing together all, regardless of race, religion or anything else.
Unity is strength. No pasarán.

Meeting with LFC about Kyiv
Earlier today, 15 May, Spirit of Shankly representatives sat down with LFC officials to raise many of the issues facing supporters ahead of the Champions League final in Kyiv.
Apply for LFC fan forums
A couple of months ago Liverpool FC announced plans to set up a number of fan forums to enhance supporter engagement. There are to be five forums each made up of eight to 12 supporters. Spirit of Shankly will also have a seat on each forum, which will be taken up by current committee members.
SOS statement on recent events
Recent events surrounding the FA charge against Luis Suarez have brought racism in football to the forefront of the news agenda. Unlike others, who have chosen to make ill-informed comments, Spirit of Shankly does not feel qualified to make public pronouncements on what is essentially a player discipline issue to be dealt with by club, player and the FA as they see fit.
Anthony Walker Foundation festival
On Saturday 9th July, Spirit of Shankly will have a stall at the Anthony Walker Foundation Festival. A one day festival of sport, music, art and education at Mountford Hall, University of Liverpool.
